Styling Dad Jeans

Dad jeans are making a statement right now and I am so thankful to have a break from skinnies. As a curvier and shorter girl, it’s hard for me to pull off looser jeans without feeling like I’m drowning. Luckily I found these two pairs from Fashion Nova that are not only so comfortable, but fit like a dream. Keep reading to see how I’ve been styling this trend.

Cropped Cardigan + Tank

This is one of my go-to combos because it looks very put together when it’s actually so comfortable and effortless. I like to pair the looser fitting jeans with a more fitted top and shorter hemline to accentuate my waist. I also like to layer a cardigan over top to add a softer feel to the masculine style of jeans. To finish it off, I add simple gold jewelry and my tried and true AF1’s.

graphic tee + Mom Clip

I opted for an oversized tee here but you can totally tie it into a knot or wear a cropped one to accentuate the waist. Leaving it oversized gives it a grungier feel and, let’s just be honest, it’s just way more comfortable. I added a mom clip and some gold jewelry to polish up the look and to give it feminine touch. For a purse, I’d pair this with a mini backpack, a baguette, or the gorgeous Louis Vuitton Pouchette bag.

A Night Out

For the last look, I paired the jeans with this cheetah print long sleeve and these amazing heels with chain detailing on the ankles. Wearing the jeans with sexier pieces creates a unique look that’s sexy but sophisticated. I feel much more comfortable and confident when I’m in something I don’t have to keep adjusting all night – I’m talking about the body con dress/skirt situation – so this look is definitely a winner for me. To complete the look, I added these statement earrings and a simple necklace. For a night out with the girls, I’d add my favorite YSL crossbody and a black faux fur bomber.
