when I’m not styling, I’m cooking

about

What can I say, I’m a woman of many trades.

I’ve loved cooking since I was about 19 years old & learned how to cook chicken in my first apartment. From there, I was later inspired by my own grandma along with my ex-boyfriend’s grandmothers who are all such talented chefs. They made me want to be one of those women in the family that people raved about their ability to cook true cuisines that were unique to their authentic selves not just for simply pouring a jar of sauce over some boxed noodles. So I picked up a plethora of cookbooks, binge-watched cooking shows for like a year straight, & collected recipe ideas I found on the internet.

Over the years, I am now not only a great cook, but I am also an efficient one. As I’ve tried new recipes & perfected my existing ones, I’ve curated some tips & tricks of my own along the way that speed up the process without sacrificing flavor & in fact enhance it as well as the texture.

Moreover, while cooking came very naturally to me, baking was a little slower for me to learn. That is until I started baking bread from scratch. It started with a humble rustic loaf & has since led to my subtly sweet English muffins, fluffy brioche bread, & focaccias of all flavors. After I gained confidence around baking, I started making simple things like chocolate chips cookies & I’ve put my own spin on them (the spin often involves brown butter).

Now I can pretty much look at a picture or video of a meal & recreate it without a recipe. Baking is a little more scientific so we are still getting there.

Anyways, I love cooking for my friends, family, & coworkers & sharing the beauty of my creations with the world so I thought I’d include a section on my website. That’s all this is.
